APEGA Past Presidents' Medal in Mechanical Engineering
Field of Study: Mechanical Engineering
Value: Sterling Gilt Medal

Conditions: Awarded to the convocating student who is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident with the highest academic standing in Mechanical Engineering on the basis of the third and fourth year combined, which must be no less than 3.5. The University withholds the right of not awarding this medal.
Funded by: The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.

Joseph Beggs Foundation for Kinematics Undergraduate Prize in Mechanical Engineering
Value: $6, 000
Conditions: To be awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year in Mechanical Engineering. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing in the courses taken in dynamics, kinematics, mechanisms and vibrations.
Funded by: Joseph Beggs Foundation for Kinematics in memory of Joseph Stiles Beggs, BSc Physics 1931 and MSc Spectroscopy 1934 University of Alberta, and Professor, School of Engineering and Applied Science, University of California at Los Angeles from 1948 to 1971.
